The Spirit of Christmas

Posted by Devin Parker

It's a little odd - normally I'm acutely aware of the Christmas season, what with the music and the decorations and the snow and all, but this year I've barely noticed it. It's probably due in part to the fact that I'm no longer working at the Christian bookstore, where there would be no way to avoid it, and the fact that I've been mired in homework before the end of the semester (which occurs tomorrow).

Not that I've minded. I love Christmas, and I love the Christmas season, but there is such a thing as overkill. And, of course, there's this:

Having said that, I'm excited. Not only am I moving back to California next week (!!!), but I'll be doing so in time to spend Christmas with my family in the mountains. Perfect timing, really. Forgive me if I sound Dickensically earnest, but that's the best Christmas present I could ask for.

Okay, back to the grindstone. I apologize if anyone's been trying to reach me in the last two weeks. The Madness will shortly be over...
