Oh, my friends. My friends who like to roleplay and who like Middle-Earth. What a discovery I've found tonight...er, this morning.

Yes, I'm up late again, and really ought to be off to bed, since I need to take Marilyn to work and I want to use the morning to have some fun before I go to work. I was playing my "The Two Towers" game on PlayStation and felt like looking around online to see if anyone had tried making a D20 adaptation of Middle Earth. I've been fiddling around with D&D/D20 a lot lately, planning to run it with Marilyn and Peter (from Branches), so it's occupying my interest.

Anyway, while Googling around, I found some wonderful websites that any of you wishing to do some gaming in Middle Earth might find rather rewarding:

First, a website devoted to fans' efforts to convert Middle Earth for the D20 system. Pretty slick for a fan-gaming site.

Second, the Encyclopedia of Arda, a big ol' online encyclopedia of Middle Earth, with maps and computer-drawn illustrations. Very informative.

Third - and I'm particularly pleased about this one - MERP.com, a website devoted to the old Middle-Earth RolePlaying game from Iron Crown Enterprises. Yes, they used RoleMaster for it, which is the last system on Earth I'd ever use, but they had very detailed supplements for the world.

And this website has just about every book I'm aware of for MERP available in PDF format for free download. All you have to do is register, and that's free.

Pretty groovy, if you ask me. Just what I wanted for Christmas!
