I bought some color pens for one of my classes, and they came with a free "manga artist pad." I tested them out by drawing an Obsidiman from the Earthdawn RPG. I was looking at a few different artists to see how they portrayed these guys (Janet Ausilio does them best, I think), but then I realized: no one does big rocky guys as well as Mike Mignola. Besides, I hadn't yet given in to the apparently universal desire among comics artists to emulate Mignola's style, so I thought this would be a nice way to vent that naughty desire. The feathering along the shading on the shoulders is pretty lousy because I was using a brush pen instead of an actual brush, and I was working a bit quickly.

Thanks! I'm trying to do just that, since you and Beth have asked for more. Besides, I'm trying to be more productive, art-wise - my tendency is to favor writing over doing artwork, and I'd like to balance things out a bit.
