Happy Halloween!

Posted by Devin Parker

I miss trick-or-treating. I miss creating and wearing a costume, for that matter. I love this holiday.

Also, Happy Reformation Day!

On this day in 1517, Martin Luther posted his Ninety-Five Theses on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences on a church door in Wittenberg, Germany, initiating debate about the Church's practice of the sale of indulgences, claiming it turned the act of repentance from sin into a commercial transaction rather than a genuine changing of the heart. This act is credited with sparking the trend of questioning the corruption in the Church of the time and leading to the Protestant Reformation.

A year or two ago, Marilyn and I discussed how we might do Halloween if we ever have kids. One suggestion that we considered was to have the kids dress as specific martyrs...

That would be awesome. Especially since few people would know who they were...even after they asked.
